Road Trip, part 2

When last we met, we were heading to Pennsylvania. As before, we went through several states: West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey (no sign), New York, Connecticut (image from internet), and Rhode Island.

We stayed 4 nights in Lancaster county, Pennsylvania, next to an Amish village. We went to Hershey’s Chocolate World (great excursion – it is free to get into and there is plenty to see there). We also toured an Amish “village” (more like a museum), poked around in lots of shops, and enjoyed some local food, including breakfast at the Shady Maple Smorgasbord (they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner and are advertised as the largest buffet in the US).

At the Route 30 diner, Susan ordered “one pancake”, not realizing that the pancake would be the size of her head!
I wanted something local, so I ordered the ham loaf – like meatloaf, but made with ham.

Next stop: Rhode Island to visit with our sister, Mary, her husband, David, and their fur babies, Ginger and Nikita.
